Hello, I’m Sophie, a trainee psychotherapist. As I complete the final stage of my training, I am offering a limited number of clinical hours free of charge. I work under expert clinical supervision and provide an initial 15-minute consultation to ensure we are the right fit.

Moving beyond traditional talk therapy, I use scientifically-backed techniques designed to achieve tangible results. My approach focuses on providing you with practical tools for self-managed, lasting recovery.

So, if something isn’t working quite right in your life and you feel you need a bit of help quickly, this could be the chance to work with an expert (in training!), to really make a change that lasts.

I can support mild to moderate anxiety, depression and mild phobias, For example:

Anxiety and Stress Management: Feelings of overwhelm, worry and difficulty relaxing, may be from an identifiable cause or, things may seem fine but you are not sure where these feelings come from.

Mood and Well-being: Assistance with depression, low motivation or a sense of things being out of balance or a lack of meaning, enjoyment or fulfillment in life.

Phobias and specific fears: Mild phobias and managing nerves (e.g. exams, interviews, public speaking, or challenging work scenarios).

Behavioral Change and Habit Control: Guidance for navigating toxic relationships or dependencies and making or adapting to changes.

Practical Skill Development: Focused training on functional, in-the-moment tools and practical skills to manage real-life situations.

My process

Healing begins with one small, intentional step

This type of therapy assumes there are two experts in the room - you and me! Solutions are co-created, with us working out what you need and how to get there fastest, and sessions will leave you feeling more empowered and positive from the start! 

My background: Before retraining I worked as the CEO of a medical charity. I hold a BA in Psychology from Durham University, qualified with distinction as a Trainee Psychotherapist by the Human Givens Institute, with Foundation Certificate in Couple Counselling and Psychotherapy from the Tavistock Centre for Couples Relationships, and published author on Childhood Attachment.
